Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

DeBernardi Thron

I just bought my wife a Debernardi made with Columbus thron tubing, but no other identification as to model name.

it has
veloce 9 speed full group
fir net 97 wheels with veloce hubs, armadillo tires
a miche primato headset
3ttt stem
3ttt morphe handlebars
easton ec70 seatpost
terry fly womens saddle
look pedals (which i am changing out for speedplay frogs)

anyone have any info/opinions on this bike? (i paid $350 for it so i think i got a pretty good deal). I guess it is probably late 90's early 2000's, but i cant find very much info on this model

It sounds like you bought an almost stock build of a typical Debernardi. The Thron is an entry level frameset. The post/saddle/pedals/tires don't align with the Debernardi's distributor's product lines but the rest of it is stuff they carry (3ttt, Miche, FiR - now gone, Campy). If the bike is in good shape and if it fits it's a nice bike. The frame/fork is maybe older tech but the geometry (handling wise) should be fine.

Zarbikes.com is their site.

Hope this helps
