Trek 1.5 - gimme the skinny

Anyone have one? What's good, what's bad? How many hours have you spent in it in a single day? Can I do a couple of long days back to back or would I be better off with a Fuji Touring bike?

I have a 2.1, so a 1.5 should work great as well. They are basically the same geometry.

I've ridden 3 centurys in a row (in 3 days) recently on my bike with no issues, My only complaint is the seat, but thats an easy fix. But at just a hair over 5 hrs each day, i'd say it was fairly comfortable.

really its all about the setup for maintaining comfort for the whole ride. Make sure the bike fits you well and the rest doesnt matter. Get the right size frame and have the shop do a fit for you

OMG! I guess that's a great testament for comfort! I have a Specialized Avatar Gel saddle that I've been using and I'm pretty happy with it. I noticed the Trek saddle didn't have that soft-tissue groove. They must have a lot of old seats to get rid of.

What saddle would you get if you were to replace it?

no idea, i'm headed to the bike store this week to take a look.

If your going to be riding long distances i'd reccomend some good bike shorts with padding in them as opposed to getting a padded seat. Its not so much the hardness of the seat just the fact it puts pressure in the wrong spots. But all in all i could live with it for less than 50 mile rides no problem.

I have an 07' 1500. I rode about 5k on it before getting a new bike, now it's used as my crit bike. The 07 I got came with Ultegra/105 9 speed mix. I swapped out the wheels and it's been decent, it's kind of a boring bike, the wheel base is long and the handling isn't spectacular. I wish I had bought a CAAD9 instead. I've spent upwards of 7.5 hrs in the saddle on that bike just fine. I just always found it to be a bit boring of a bike.

i just got an 09 Trek 1.5 and i love it. The most ive ridden in a single day is about 2.5 hours. The only problem ive had is the saddle gets a little uncomfortable on a longer ride. Other then that its a great ride.
