Specialized road shoe help
Do Specialized Comp Road shoes have a very high stack height compared to Diadora shoes in general? I feel like I am lifting my heel a lot at the top of the stroke compared to the Diadora shoes I had. At the top of the pedal stroke with my Diadora shoes, my foot was relatively flat, now the heel is raising with the Specialized shoes, and in turn, my Knee angle is closing up. I cannot figure out why this is happening.

Comp road shoes
Hey Danielle..I'm not familiar with the Diadora shoes..but I have the Specialized Comp shoes..they do have a nice foot bed..maybe a little thicker sole than the shoes you're used to..but can't say I think they'd be all that much different in terms of 'stack height' as you call it.
Have you changed to new pedals or cleats?? That could make a difference too..
In the long run, I think you'll like the shoes. If you're feeling like they have you a little higher on the pedals you could raise your seat just a tiny bit..but I'd ride them a while and see if it's just gettting used to the feel of a new shoe.
Enjoy!

Specialized has a unique footbed, highly advertised, which may affect your knee angles. This is to correct varus angle on foot. This is part of the reason why I "may" only ride with Specialized shoes - I have extreme varus issues and have to do some additional stuff to keep everything aligned.
As a consequence, I am clueless as to relative stack height of other shoes, though.

Don't know about Diadoras, but my Specialized Comps have a thicker sole than my Sidis.
