I'm hopelessly optimistic. Plus, I think the mods recognize the pure entertainment value of this thread to keep it going if the OP keeps posting his asinine rebuttals.

There are two things wrong with that statement.
1. if you don't know the first, this pic applies
If the pic still doesn't give you a hint, let me just be blunt...calling someone an idiot in writing and doing so without being able to use basic proper spelling/grammar is not the move a smart feller would want to make.
2. Personal insults are against forum guidelines. Consider this as the friendly unofficial warning that comes before the official infractions and banning that WILL come if you keep up the attacks and lame attempts at profanity. I'm cutting you some slack because...well you are 18 and based on your previous posts, neither the brightest bulb on the tree nor very thick skinned. Plus I think the rest of the membership has beat up on you pretty good to this point and I hate to kick a man while he's already down and bleeding like a stuck pig. (Well actually I do, but I'm not allowed to admit it anymore).
HTH (Hope this helps) HAND (Have a Nice Day)
To everyone else: Let's give the boy a chance to modify his behavior and get back on the original subject without mocking him further and forcing us to lock the thread and get out our rather large ban sticks.
(Mine is bigger than Pete's, BTW)

The OP has made me realize what rank amateurs we are in the idiocy department as well as what a pleasure it is to watch a professional at work.
Given the general level of discussions on BF, AJ will thrive here if he stays. I vote we keep him.

Anyways back on topic. I do not have size 13 feet, but I do have size 11.5 and when I took a u-turn the other I did not experience toe-overlap. This may be because I took the turn like wider because knowing that if I turned the wheels too much I would most likely fall down. Maybe gives this a try next time you are out riding. By the way I also ride a 54 cm frame. Like everyone else has said when you are riding at normal pace you will not have to turn much, you more so lean into turns.

Leave the kid alone. He did not know.
They would not tell you, but I will: about using your foot as toe-english to help you control your bike. You use it sort of like a brake that pulls you more to one side than the other. Pro racers use it all the time for tricky maneuvers. With a little bit of practice, you will be using it all the time like the rest of us.

Once again:
Enough of the criticism.
If you don't have anything to help him out please refrain from stirring the pot. I am requesting this nit picking to stop please. If you see that what you posted after Chipcom's request has been removed, the reason is stated in the prior sentence.

You guys would rather give him a hard time about his grammar, than help him solve his simple problem? No wonder cyclists have a bad rep. Dude 30 degrees is more than enough for any turn. Try leaning into the turn a little. Stop pedaling on serious turns. I have found that leaning, combined with a small turn of the wheel can take you around just about any corner you may find.
Im 6' 2" with a size 13 shoe. I had your very problem when I first started out, but I had that problem while going around the neighborhood at a slow speed. Slow speed = little to no leaning possible. Maybe try getting your speed up and try leaning around a corner. Basically just experiment with it and try different turning styles. Hope I could help.

You also learn pretty quickly that if you need to make a sharp turn at slow speed, then you time the turn so your feet aren't impeding your wheel. It's just something you learn and get used to. Road bikes are designed with a short wheelbase in mind to keep the handling nimble. It means that you must live with toe overlap. It's particularly bad on most true track (velodrome) bikes. Longer wheelbase bikes such as touring, mountain, or cyclocross bikes won't have toe overlap.

I have toe overlap on some of my bikes. The only one on which it could even be a problem is my fixed gear because you can't stop pedalling. Normally it's only possible to overlap your foot below 5mph or so. In those cases, I just stop pedalling, unless I'm on the fix. In that case, I've gotten pretty good at planning my path so I don't end up turning toward my forward foot at low speed.
At high speed, it's pretty much impossible.
Problem status: solved.
You're welcome.

1. I am stopped at light. Front wheel is turned (to the left in this example) as if often done by cyclists stopped. I then absent mindedly rotate the cranks so my right foot is forward at 10o'clock (as seen from the left side of bike) for best push off at green. Light turn green I push off and as they wheel straightens out my right foot gets stuck between wheel and down tube. Yikes. I almost fell the first time this happened. It never happened again.
2. I am making the sharp uphill U-turn on the freeway overpass MUP bridge. If cyclist/ped is coming the the other way I need to make such a sharp u-turn to stay on the inside of the curve that my foot can jam up hard against the wheel - I can't travel faster and I need to turn sharply. So I've learned it is not possible to make such a sharp u-turn and instead must wait until downhill traffic has passed.

This is a hilarious thread! Anyway, I took that picture above!!! I was at a rally in St. Louis against Boeing's use of JDAMS and took this picture of a protestor against our protest. How funny it ended up here!

Yes, somewhere in the first three or four pages of this funfest all of the solutions for dealing with toe overlap, the fact that overlap is often expected, etc, are given. The kid would rather get pissy than listen to anyone with a modicum of experience.

I know this thread is locked, (you guys are gonna get it for making another mod come in here and do it...see if I am ever the nice, patient, meek, humble, peacemaker again in this joint ) but I need to respond to nadimk and tell him that his photo has become a classic and a staple of the P&R forum, where moron is now correctly spelled moran.
