Seat bag screwed up my bibs

It can happen , even if your seat bag is a wedge. Happened to me, but luckily they were not my most expensive bibs.

I had taken my seat bag off to try to find the source of a noise. I put it back on today before my ride today. Then about 15 minutes into my ride I realized that the velcro around the seatpost had been rubbing on the inner right thigh of my bibs. It really roughed up the material on my nicest pair of bibs. Needless to say, I'm irritated with myself for not checking the setup better before riding. What do other people do to get around this issue? Is it just attention to setup? Or, is there some trick I haven't figured out yet?
That being said, Fizik makes an interesting system where there is a mechanical connection to a slot in the back of the saddle.

I have the Topeak Aero Wedge size medium, with the clip/saddle-clamp setup. It's tapered, plus I removed the seatpost strap entirely, so there is nothing to snag the shorts. Easy to remove for flat repair by just unclipping. Four tubes & other necessities, with room to spare.

I think it's more of a question of.... do you want all that crap in your jersey?

Exactly! I'm not too fond of the saddle bag look but I'd have that any day over the discomfort of loading down my jersey. If I didn't need so much hydration here in Texas, I'd carry my gear in a container that fits in a bottle cage.

When I ride, I usually squeeze the following into the jersey pockets:
Wallet, cellphone, 1 or 2 tubes, Mini pump. There's room for more. Of course it would be nice to ride with team car support to take care of it, but one becomes accustomed to the stuff in the pockets. Maybe that's just because it feels better than the backpack I take when commuting work... and occasionally on those longer after work rides in the hills.

Mini pumps hook up pretty nicely at the water cage, then you never lose or forget them or anything. I've got a tiny saddle bag, yet it still holds a tool, a tube, & CO2 mini.
So, all I got to think about is phone, a key, my mini-wallet, & ipod. in my jersey, things I want to take with me when I get off the bike. Doesn't weight down the jersey at all, nothings jostling around, and I look damn good when I fly by.
If I'm going on an epic adventure, I'll then throw a second tube in the jersey and some food stuffs. Beyond special circumstances, I don't understand putting "bike stuff" in your pockets.

I hate the feel of all that crap bouncing around in my shirt.
