Do you wear underwear with your Lycra Shorts?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes, I do. I don't have the money to buy 5 pairs of $100 cycling shorts, or to shower before I ride every ride, and I'd rather not wear something as underwear several different days without washing it. I don't have that kind of time or money, and it's simply way easier and cheaper to wash regular underwear.

I wear these:

Slick, synthetic, fairly breathable.

Why not just wash the 1 pair you own in the shower with you? Hang to dry, and it's ready for tomorrow.

Just curious, why don't you throw it in the washing machine? Do you prefer hand-wash to protect the chamois?

I wear nothing underneath my shorts. Bikeforums members advised me not to, as I was having sore spots on the perinium. When I stopped wearing underwear, the sore spots got better and better. Right now I can ride in perfect comfort

I like itchy wool underwear to keep me from putting too much weight on the seat.

I live in an apartment with shared and pay laundry - I would have to pay $1.50 each time I rode, it's time consuming to go down to the laundry room, and would have to stick around for the next hour to get it when it's done.

I do, but PR said he didn't have the time or money so I suggested handwashing.

Well, if you have excess toe overlap, no one really needs to see that much junk.

We ought to make this subject a sticky.

Wait ... that doesn't sound right.
