105 versus Rival crankset
I am building a single-speed conversion, and I am about to purchase a new crankset. I found an 09 Sram Rival crankset at a pretty good price, and I was considering purchasing it.
Now, I would like the best crankset I have to go onto my road bike. The CAAD9 still has the stock 105 crankset on it, and I haven't had any problems with it. But, since the two cranksets are pretty similar in fit and purpose, I could easily put the 105 on the conversion and the Rival crank on the CAAD9. Or I could keep it the way it is and put the newer crankset on the conversion.
So...is the Rival crankset any better than the 105 crankset?

Meh....I'd keep the 105 on your CAAD.
They are both very solid/great cranks, but I still say Shimano has the edge in the crank department.
