Let me make this perfectly clear. Advice on craigslist as requested.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Let me make this perfectly clear. Advice on craigslist as requested.

I am not trying to sell this bike here!
I would just like to know if you think my ad and asking price is resonable.
LBS said I should ask 1200.00, but they were also trying to sell me a new bike at the time. So they were likley full of it.
So what do you think .. stand pat, or lower the price?

Not worth more than 700 in my opinion.

You might get more if you strip the parts, in which case there would be some interest in the group.

Honestly, it depends.

Your parts are old school 9 speed stuff and it's 105, so the value of that decreases a ton.

If your shop said 1200, why don't you make them pay 900 for it and sell it for 1200?

Here in los angeles, you would sell that in ten minutes flat at that price... Seven minutes tops if you had the word fixie in there, and 4 minutes if it were an actual fixie, go figure

Hmm. About a year & 1/2 ago, I bought a Giant OCR C3, full carbon, triple, with 105 components for $850. It had 120 miles on it, barely used. IMHO, your offer is only so-so. I like my triple, but most prefer compacts.

$800 in Chicago. The wheels and 9 speed drivetrain keep the value down at that level.

Nice frame, but upgrading the bike with reasonable wheels & drivetrain would add $$$ to the price.

Even with Open Pro's and a 2 X 10 speed, it would not get $1200.

I would drop the price $100 maybe.

Have you posted it on the OBRA list?

Also, not sure that the RCB's free tune ups thing is transferable.

Agreed, 700-800 range it will sell pretty fast. I bought my wife's Giant TCR full carbon with Ultegra/DA mix for $1200 so this price seems a little high for 9 spd 105.

The issue is that a good frame paired with old components is seen as 'meh'.

I think it would be best to part it out, but that takes time and might only get you 100-200 more after a lot more work selling and shipping everything.

Thanks for the guidance on this.
I don’t think I will mess with parting it out. Just way too much hassle for too little gain. I dropped the price on the ad to 850.00 obo.
I was really hoping to recoup a little more of what I spent on the Cervelo, but things are what they are.
