Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

While not Road Cycling directly it does effect how we are all portrayed on the street....this guy managed to get a link to this video on the front of CNN. Makes me embarrassed to call myself a cyclist.....

A) the video wasn't that bad. Most of the motorists didn't seem to mind; some even thought it was great.

B) the over under for number of pages on this thread by noon tomorrow: 6. Place your bets.

True, and yet there will be those that will find new ways (not really) to say it.

If you haven't heard about this:

Can't say I want to go riding with these guys too bad, even if it was freak occurrence... riding at 4mph and screaming for attention doesn't sound too appealing.

Looked to me that most motorists were calm, cool, and collected. And didn't have a problem with the ride.

Can't imagine why you'd be embarrassed about this video -- if anything, it's much more positive than others that I've seen.

Vancouver is such a great place.

Wow... I agree.

Probably the silliest thing I ever see in these videos is the random halfhearted "woo hoo". Sure, the particular "woo hoo-hoo" that repeats itself here is a sample that's used in the reggae background music, but come on, it sounds so... I don't know... "white", I guess. Nothing to do with the KKK, either; I just can't come up with any other way to put it.
