wrapping two-tone bar tape
Is it possible to wrap two-tone tape so that the tape wraps outwards on the drop, and inwards toward the rider on the top of the bars, while simultaneously keeping the same color on 'top' of the other color?
When I try this, it seems that if I reverse the wrap to achieve the desired wrap direction on both drops and tops, the colors switch places.

I recently re-wrapped my bars and I found a couple you-tube videos that were helpful. You have to reverse the wrap by looping around the brifters to do what you are describing as I recall.

yes, do an extra loop around the shifters to come out on the other side and you can do it. Although when you do this you lose a bit of length so it is harder to fill up the whole bar but it can be done.

You Know!? For Kids!
Could you end the top tape and start the bottom tape at the brifter, and hide the start/end under the brifter hoods?

Two-tone is so 80's. One color either white or black bar tape.

okay, here's a (poor) picture of what I'm talking about:
The issue here isn't actually it's two-tone-edness, but that it has perforations that I want to be on top of the wrap. As you can see, this is fine on the drops, but the only way to keep the perforations on top when I wrap to the tops of the bars is to not reverse the wrap direction. This is what I've done in the pic. The wrap on top of the bars is going the 'wrong' way. This would occur if I had two-tone tape as well, of course.
However, I no longer believe it's physically possible to reverse the wrap so it's going the right way on top while keeping the perforations on top.
Splitting the wrap at the shifters may be my only option.

I still don't understand. How would the position on the bar dictate which part of the tape is on top?

On one side of the threads in the middle of the tape, there are perforations. On the other side there are not. This is similar to two-color bar tape like the fizik dual tape where one side is one color and the other half another color.

So you always want the perforations towards the end of the bar (that's what I'm getting from your picture)? But when you wrap it normally they somehow switch to be towards the stem?

heheheh, not quite I want the perforated section to lay on top of the previous loop.
When reversing the wrap around the shifters, this is impossible - they will always lie under the previous wrap.
This is clearly one of those things that's easier seen than described. Although I was looking at in myself last night and was still not sure I understood what was happening lol.

Are you doing a figure-8 around the shifter or just continuing the wrap in the same direction as on the drop?

In the picture, I'm just continuing the wrap in the same direction. This results in the perforations on top, but the wrap in the wrong direction.
If I wrap with a figure-8, the wrap is now in the right direction, but the perforations are on bottom.

I don't know what to tell you. Try contacting the manufacturer and ask what they recommend you do?

Is that a turntable and a whole bunch of LP's in the background of your picture? That takes me back a few years...
