Bike sizing when changing the bars
Hi All,
I found a 1997 Trek 1220 on CL that I might buy and put on a flat bar (prolly sell the Shimano RSX components). The tires are dead so it will be hard to test the fit. The bike is 52cm, which is a little small for my 5'8 and 33" inseam (54cm would be optimal), but I thought it might work once I put on a new stem/bar to fit.
In your experience, would this work, or will it just feel "small" regardless?
Thanks!

Changing from drop style bars to flat bars will reduce the reach.
None of this sounds very good.

Thanks Michael. I was kinda thinking that would be the consensus - in this case, a little big would be better than a bit small. thx!
