Pulling The Trigger On A Kurt Kinetic Road Machine

I have finally decided to get a KK Road Machine trainer. I have never had a Trainer or being on one before, since I live in SoCal, but my job schedule is just impossible.

What are the things I need to know? Should I get a KK riser block? Or is a generic riser block from Performance gonna be fine? I presume I also should get a mat, right?

I already know it's gonna be boring, but I have no choice.

I want all the lowdowns.

Thanks for all your help.

Any generic wheel block should be fine.

Turn the tension knob till it barely touches the wheel and then 2 1/4 turn more.

Most importantly, buy some Spinervals DVD's (Ebay is fine). They will convert the trainer from a torture machine to a fun training tool. The Carmichael Training System's 8 week Progressive Power Series is great also.

I don't have a mat (it is in my basement) but I do have a sheet of plastic under the trainer to collect the small bit of tire tread that you will eventually get and the sweat :).

I've had mine about two weeks. I really like it, and during the winter months it will sure help. It already does during rainy periods.

Any riser will do. I have mine in our basement media room with two weights inder the front wheel to level it out. Works fine. I also have a cheap mat from walmart underneath.

You will love it. Its a great product!! I also recommend a TV or sterio to fight the lack of scenery.

Enjoy!!
