Problems with Selle San Marco Aspide

So I got a Selle San Marco Aspide on ebay, the following link has a picture of it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

The reason I got this one was because I've seen quite a number of people using San Marco saddles. (not a good reason I know)

The first time I used this saddle was on a (supposedly) multi-day century ride from nor cal to south cal. After just 30 miles into the ride on my first day, I could no longer bear the pain in my as* and I had to stand up every few minutes just to relieve the pain. After about 70 miles I was seriously concerned about whether I'll be able to walk the next day. The pain is bad, but what really concerns me is that my feet become numb. I think that means the seat is preventing my blood to circulate in the lower part of my body, which is definitely a problem.

I just want to know if anyone had the same problem with this saddle and how you dealt with it? Or I'll just have to go back to the stock saddle..

ive rode the aspide for a year (til i somehow bent the rails... probably tightened them too much). replaced it with an arione cx.

for the aspide, first of all, it takes about 2-3 weeks for your butt to get used to it. it does get comfortable after a while. ive rode 3 centuries on it. make sure you get it fairly level. its a great racing saddle.

I've got 2 Aspides, neither of which are exactly the same as yours. One of them is a bit less comfortable than the other but I've never had my feet going numb. I'd check shoe tightness just to be sure but if it is the saddle, I'd be getting that thing listed back on eBay asap.

That is a good saddle - just not for you. Move on.

c'mon - really?

never try anything new on a big ride, especially something as critical as the saddle. you got what you deserved on that one.
