Fuji Roubaix?

Forgive me if it's been discussed to death already, but I just want to know how these bikes are holding up? Speaking of the new red/white bikes, with the carbon seat stays. I want one, but will probably continue dreaming unless I hear anything earth shattering good about them. They're on sale with a pretty drastic
price reduction right now. I'm by no means a professional racer or anything, but the only newer model bike I have owned in the last couple of years, I hated!! It was an 05 Scott Speedster S4, and would beat me to death though not as bad as my old CAAD 3 R600. Any thoughts on ride, handling, durability of the frame, things like that??,,,,BD

Pics would be nice too, if you have your own shots. Catalog pics usually make things look better than they actually are, hehe. Also what about weight limit on those wheels?? I am
6'1", 215 and dropping. I can be hard on wheels when out of the saddle.

This is the bike I am speaking of. I think they're absolutely beautiful in person...!

Looks just like my Cross Pro :P (if you took away the carbon seatstay)

they actually look pretty much the same in person as they do in the catalog. Don't worry about the wheels, at 215 you're not going to hurt them unless you take it off a 4 foot drop to flat. I've got a 54 and a 58cm available. Good time to buy, most shops are starting end of season sales. We're doing 30% off anything instock.

I absolutely love mine. The carbon stays and fork have held up perfectly fineand the wheels are a lot stronger than you would think. If you can get a good price, go for it.

Fuji Bikes are a Great Buy! Unfortunately for Fuji and fortunately for us, they do not have the marketing power of Trek etc. Therefore Very good bikes can be gotten at a reduced price from the LBS. They need to move their stock.

BTW, what are they selling for?

"Best of '07 Award

Roadbikereview.com just gave the Fuji Roubaix the Best of '07 award for the best road bike under $1200. This can only help the Roubaix to move even faster You can see the award in the library's miscellaneous section under awards."

I love Fuji Bikes

I dont know about the Roubaix but I really liked the Roubaix Pro. I was going to get one but got an Allez Elite at the last minute for the same price. I think the Roubaix is a really good deal.

Between the Roubaix Pro and the Scattante R660, what do people think is a better buy? (Cheapness tells me that I must go to Performance to buy stuff) Right now the Roubaix Pro is going for 899.00 before tax and shipping online, but I think the R660 also gets around that low on certain sales. It seems like they're pretty similar, the Fuji being a little cheaper but with 105 instead of Ultegra. The problem is Scattante logo is the most ridiculously ugly thing I have ever seen, but I think bad stuff will happen if I try painting it :)

I just paid $899.00 for one at Performance.

899.00 for me, too

Even if you order on line, don't you have to go to the Local Performance Shop to pick up the Fuji?
If that is the case, there shouldn't be any shipping.
I do not think Fuji allows it's re-sellers to advertise and ship it's bikes, although I could be wrong.......

I will tell you, my LBS will not sell a Trek discounted that much. They do not have to becuase of marketing and distribution. This is why the Fuji's are such a GREAT DEAL!

A great riding bike, I love it!

Go for the Roubaix Pro. It has at least 105 components, and you'll be thanking me in the long run if you invest just a little more to go with the 105 over the Tiagra stuff.

Where does the Roubaix SL fall in the product line compared to the Roubaix and Roubaix Pro?

It was only available for 2006. It was the top of the Roubaix line according to Bikepedia:

My brother has the lower-end (I think a 2008) one in a 61, with Tiagra/105. he's 6'5" and about 240-250 pounds and it rides great for him. His only complaint is the shifters are a little rough, but he loves the ride.
