Campagnolo Record BB in 111mm for triples only?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Campagnolo Record BB in 111mm for triples only?

I bought a used italian high end frame. it comes with a campy record BB in 111mm. Does it only work with a triple chain ring? I don't plan to use triple. Would it be useless with a double?

The 111mm BB won't work with a double. You'll need a 102mm BB for a Campy double crank.

Tree is right that for current model Chorus and Record double you need a 102mm bottom bracket, but Centaur and below have a 111mm bottom bracket spindle for a double chainring setup. The Record 111mm spindle could be an old double or a newer triple I think. You'd need to check the offset.

cheers,
