Industry Nine Ego Wheelset - White Race Issue worth?
I recently bought two sets of Industry Nine Ego wheelsets from Rich Hincapie (George's older brother) at Hincapie Sports and was curious what the going rate might be for these on the open market? There isn't too much information on them but Industry Nine wheels are super popular and have a great reputation with the cyclocross and MTB folks.
They look almost new and were used by their Hincapie-Barkley team 2 years ago. Rich has had them stored for a while. I have one set that I will keep on my climber road rig and might sell the second wheelset if I can get a good return.
I called Industry Nine about these wheels and Brandy (one of the partners at Industry Nine) told me these are limited edition racing issue wheels since they have white rims with matching white hubs and black spokes.
Info on wheelset is here

Description: "Our bread and butter wheelset. Bladed aluminum spokes, 18 hole front and 24 hole rear coupled with a 450g, 30mm deep aluminum clincher rim. At 1450g for the pair this wheelset is light enough to race but durable enough to train on. Our wheel design keeps the rotational weight low while maintaining an incredibly stiff and responsive feel. Hybrid ceramic bearings are standard too, leaving you with few excuses. Suitable for everyone from the club rider to the seasoned racer, this wheelset can do it all."
Retail is $1100 a set. These have ceramic bearings and have a very unique spoke setup. They are by far the best wheels I own and am glad I was able to pick up two sets. I'm simply curious if anyone has any experience with the road wheels and they're resale value.
I'm thinking upwards of $700 or so but then again they're not the most recognized name. They're MTB wheels are pricey and the road wheels seem to follow that same suit.

well, assuming you got the brodeal price, it is bad bike karma to try and make a killing of something you scored for a killer deal.
make a few bucks, and send the good bike vibes to someone who doesnt have the luck to score a nice set of wheels.
