Why cyclists hate us
So, I was riding with some friends this morning and as I was moving into the left lane for a left turn at a red light, a car takes the lane behind me. Cool, I think, here's a driver taking the lane and acting like a predictable vehicle on the road.
Instead of driving by me, he stopping behind me. Then he drove into the oncoming traffic lane, turns left through the green and continues up the road.
I pass him safely and get stopped a block or so up at another red light. I watch as the guy comes up past me on the shoulder and drives therough the green ahead of me again. I just shook my head and told my friend behind me that if I ever saw him drive like that, he'd have his license pulled for a year.
I can see why bikes want to run us off the road. I'm a cyclist and *I* wanted to run him down.
It wouldn't be so bad except the dude was in minivan and I think my 11 year old could beat him. I mean the guy was SLOW as dirt.
So in my situation would you a) toss a cup of coffee at him, b) ring your bell at him or c) hang into the window and yell at him to HTFU?

I assume this is one of those 'put yourself in the other person's shoes' reframing stories. I've used a similar technique for my students in psychology classes. Very 'thought-provoking' if done right.
