Do I want '09 Ultegra SL or '10 Rival?
Same frame, same parts spec, the only thing changing from '09 to '10 is drop the Shimano pick up the SRAM...do I wait for 2010 Rival or buy the 2009 Ultegra SL spec right now?
Thanks.
Thanks.

You buy the 2009 Ultegra right now, then remove all the Ultegra, sell it as "new bike take off", and then put 2009 Rival on.

It would be a "new bike take off" if he doesn't ride it. New bike, take the parts off, hence, "new bike take off".
It's got 0 miles on it, it's just not "new" because it's been installed.

Do you like the feel of one over the other? I personally love 09 Ultegra SL. I didn't like 09 Rival at all, is 10 going to be changed? Think of it like that. Try as many as you can first and where does $$$ come into play?

2009 bike is on sale for around 2800-ish, 2010 bike will be original 3300-3400 range. I should totally buy the 2009 bike shouldn't I?

Yup, even if you decide to go '10 RIVAL later on, the sale of used Ultegra will offset some of the cost of RIVAL and you'll still be less than that of the '10 bike's sale price. At least that's what I would have done.

You get a cheaper bike (than waiting for the 2010) and lighter, better components. You can probably sell the Ultegra for more than you pay for the Rival. This is a win, win, win.

Neither one. Chorus or Athena 11 speed. An Athena group can be had for around $700. Chorus if over $1000.

Well,
Sram Rival is 200 grams lighter than the new 2010 Ultegra if that means anything to you. Ultegra is great stuff though, but Rival works as well and is A LOT lighter and a hell of A LOT cheaper than the new Ultegra.

I'd go with Rival, but mostly because SRAM levers fit my hands much better than Shimano.
