2010 Cervelos?!?!?

My gosh, when are they going to post the 2010 Cervelos? My wife and I are thinking about Cervelos for Triathlons, but I think they're the last major site that hasn't updated anything.

rugerben 09-10-09 08:54 PM

Giant has still not updated their website either.

mzeffex 09-10-09 08:59 PM

I was just about to say Giant. Which is annoying. Since at the shop we have the 2010 catalog, so it's not that they haven't announced anything.

What are you worried about? paint jobs?

That is exactly right. The bikes aren't going to change much - just the color of paint.

The critical queston is, how much are the older models going to drop in price when they post the new ones. The "latest greatest-itis" illness is going to cost you quite a bit of money.

I have bought 2 Cervelo's now at decent discounts because I was willing to settle for last years paint job.

Nothing is changing for 2010 except for the paint jobs...the above link pretty much sums up the changes. Cervelo has typically been slow to transition. If I remember correctly, its been the year of before we usually have had the new Cervelos in store. Not sure how long it has taken them to update the website on average as I haven't been one to follow the company too closely...don't interest me much.

Ok, so still nothing with stock SRAM, huh. I guess the new color schemes are ok. Looks like the S1 with Ultegra is about $400 more. Wow. Yes, I hope the 2009s have some good closeout prices.

About 2 or 3 months ago I picked up a 2008 Cervelo at the LBS. I got a discount on that old junker.

Meh. 2010 Giants are better, more substance and less flash.

No, they are not. They are if you are easily wooed by a giant logo wrapped in extensive marketing, these are the same folks who wet themselves over Zipps or Colnago because the lbs/magazine/trainer-partner/coach/tv/grouppie/co-workers told them so. How long this magic aura last is anyone's guess,

Don't want one.

You poor poor man, with $7k to spend for two Cervelo tri/TT bikes. I feel sorry for you that you have to wait so long.

Of course Cervelo doesn't want me, I'm not a technophile bike poser willing to spend that kind of dough for a poser bike. If Cervelo wants you, you are a sucker.

pinwheel 09-12-09 05:59 AM

what exactly makes a poser bike what it is?

My God, did Cervelo kill a family member or something?

Goose5 09-12-09 01:19 PM

I'll take a Cervelo thank you very much.

Garfield Cat 09-12-09 01:40 PM

On the Cervelo S3, the 2010 model has a change. The seat stays have been widened to accommodate different wheels. The S3, Tour de France limited edition for 2009 already has the change.

Me, too! And, I had no idea there was going to be this weird back and forth when I started this thread. Geesh.
