Which Giro helmet?
I'm thinking about getting a new helmet since my Limar helmet is 3 years old now(does it need to be changed?)
I was looking at the Giro Ionos and the Saros, other than a few small carbon pieces what is the difference between the two helmets?

Same thing as with all helmets.
-Lighter
-Sits lower on your head
-Breathes better
-Arguably looks better.
These same things apply to all helmets as you move up in cost.

Not the Atmos?
Of those two, supposedly the Ionos will have much better ventilation. And I'm not sure, but looking online at the Saros, I think you can put a visor on it.
I'm looking at helmets as well so I'm curious how others respond.

Cycling Plus (UK) ran a big helmet review a couple of issues ago. They rated on cost, fit and venting. The Saros was their top-rated and best venting Giro, and retails for around $100.00.

atmos. i had an atmos and crashed so i upgraded to the ionos but i prefer the fit of the atmos. the ventilation is amazing on the ionos.
BUT what you need is the s-works helmet if it fits your head well

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
I was going to simply post, "Which one fits?"
I can't imagine being an hour into a ride and thinking, "Boy, this helmet is fancy and light, but it's rubbing a hole into the top of my skull..."

I've tried both on already and I couldn't tell the difference other than the $100 cost. I'm not sure if they looked different on me though.

I can't comment on the aerodynamics or ventilation, but fyi, I've tried the fit of both, although the diameters are the same for each size, the Saros has a much more oval fit (i.e. the width is very narrow and I could not get it onto my head without hurting my temples). Whichever you decide, I highly suggest trying it at a LBS first.
