I had to have a carbon bike, so a couple months ago I bought one and put my computer on it from my older road bike. I treated my old, (but still very nice) bike it to a new Cateye Cordless 7. Well I started comparing bikes and noticed the new carbon bike seemed so much easier to get to the same speed and beyond than on the older bike that I had put the new cordless computer on. Well the new computer on the older bike kept acting up and I continued making adjustments. But I was determined to make that bike go as fast as the new carbon one. Man did I bust my butt trying! The old bike "felt" so heavy and sluggish, I didn't even want to ride it! Here all along I didn't know the computer wasn't reading the speed right! LBS exchanged it tonight, said they were all lemons, and I just got in from a ride with the replacement computer on it (yeah sweat dripping all over this keyboard), and WOW my old bike sure is fast! Now the effort "seems" so much less; the bike "feels" so light and fast now that the correct speed is visual in digital numbers! Amazing the effect believing in something that is wrong can actually have on the event! I never would have believed it! What a work out I've had the past couple weeks! Now the new bike dosen't shine very bright! Just had to share this with you guys. thanks, bye.
