No. And by "no", I mean "hell no."
|
Forte makes some cheap tires, I like cheap!
|
By "Forte" you mean "Microshift", at least for the brifters. No idea who makes the derailleurs, but it may be Microshift as well.
|
Forte tires suck.

I'll be racing on MicroShift next year, I'm hoping that it's nice, but you never know. Mine isn't the aluminum groupset, though.

I used a cheap forte titan wheel set for awhile. Stayed true and they got me places, no complaints.

On the other hand, I've got about 3000 miles on a pair of Metro's on my commuter, they're still looking good. I'll probably replace them with Schwalbe's or equivalent when the time comes, but they have done a fantastic job for the money. Hard parts are another story - I don't think its worth it myself. I'd buy something that I'd know will last and perform. On my last build, being short on money, it was Dura ace and Ultrega scored cheap on Ebay. |
Their pedals sucked, their shoes sucked, their seatpost sucked, but their wheels are alright. I guess it's a crap shoot, which makes sense because they're all rebranded from various other makers.

(I'm riding with CR150 pedals and they work perfectly. :) ) |
They had too much play in them for my taste. I had the SPD compatible road version, btw.
|
They look like someone took Sora brifters and moved the thumb button, added a shift paddle, and lock the planal movement of the brake lever.
|
Anyone have links to these online?

Love the Forte Titan wheels!

I have some Forte Deeps, the rear was a piece of junk. Eyelets cracked and the freehub blew up, after only 2k miles or so. The front is alright, but nothing special. |
Basically junk. The only Forte bike component I bought failed.
|
I have forte's Carve SPD pedals.
I've used shimano brand, as well as Ritchey SPDs. The Forte Carves are the smoothest, and most precise feeling. Also very nicely made and finished. Not bad for pedals that I bought for $30. |
I use Forte saddles; they just happen to fit my butt better than others I tried that were 3-4x the price. Unfortunately they stopped making/rebranding the kind I like, so whenever I need to replace them it could be a long search.

Forte sucks really bad, horrible quality control. . I had a cheap stem from them, and its crappy construction almost cost me a King headset.

Forte stainless cages work fine, they're light enough (45g), strong, and cheap...$10 right now.
Also have Forte MTB tires which are acceptable. |
