Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Skins

Now don't get all excited. This is a question to see if anyone has tried these yet?
https://www.skins.net/us/en/Products/...e/default.aspx

Kind of expensive, on par with Assos. Wanted to see if anyone has tried them and how they compare to Assos.

A couple of people in my club have these and reckon they are very comfortable. Not sure how they compare to Assos or if they are value for money, they are very expensive.

I have a couple of pairs of the Skins 'normal' (non-cycling specific) compression long tights and reckon they help my legs to recover from a hard workout.

Yes. Best. Chamois. Ever. I have a pair of Cycling Bib Longs (bib tights) and a pair of Cycling Longs (tights). Well worth the money.

Of course, you should really be asking Vireo, since he just did the entire Furnace Creek 508 (509.8 miles) in the same pair of Skins Cycling Bib Longs. If that's not a great testimonial, I don't know what is. He's used them on every ultra he's done this year. Loves them!

I picked up the bib tights at Chainreactioncycles, was ~$200 CND at the time. Fantastic tights, I'd say the chamois is close to the Assos Uno, though I still prefer the dimpled pattern that Assos uses.

The comfort of the compression fit is amazing.

I'd say that the "small" in Skins is between a small and medium in Assos. The Skins sizing guide is quite detailed (goes by weight & height charts) so it's hard to go wrong.

I'm just in that gray box in-between.

I recall somewhere on their site that - if in between sizes - go to the size down for bottoms, and the size up for tops.

I was too. I sized down and I'm glad I did.
