Hitch racks: Thule or Saris?
Let me start by saying that I did a search. It wasn't helpful. There was about a 5:1 garbage to mildly useful ratio on the threads that came up.
I'm looking for a hitch rack (2" receiver) for 2 bikes where the bikes sit on the rack rather than dangle from the frame. The bikes will be both on my car and on the RV. The RV trips range up to a few thousand miles long, so the bikes will be there for a lot of shaky hours on end.
I've narrowed it down to the Thule T2 and the Saris CycleOn Pro. Both seem to have good and bad reviews. Do you have any opinions regarding the reliability of these two racks? Have you had any wobble problems? Which one is the easiest to lock on the vehicle and then lock up the bikes? Have you had any rust problems?
On my most recent trip, the velcro holder on my old Rak-N-Lok rack came loose and I almost lost my tri bike. As it is, I have a pretty good gash in the top tube. That's why I'm looking for a new rack.

I have never used a hitch mount rack but sold a few Thule ones. and they seemed real nice. ditch the velcro straps and use some nylon toe straps. they are the best for securing your bikes. when I have to use a trunk rack I always use toe straps, even on my roof rack.

Yakima Holdup. I have it for my Scion (they make both 2" and 1.25" versions) and it is awesome.

Lost
my buddy has this: the stick-up
https://www.yakima.com/racks/bike-rac...0/stickup.aspx
i dont have experience with the saris, but the yakima works excellent, held the bikes fine over several thousand miles of travel now.
that said, most anything by yakima or thule should be excellent, both companies offer tried and true products.
