Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Isn't it ironic?

I've been riding an old tire and tube, about 10-15 year old specialized turbo-s, and I get a flat the day before I'm expecting my new cassette/tire/chain to come for my new wheel, plus I bought new long stem tubes today. Its the first flat I've gotten on that tire in 10 years, although I haven't been riding consistently during that time but I put 500+ miles on it this month.

I didn't get the flat while riding, it was just flat when I got home tonight, when I wasn't going to ride due to the heavy rain. I'll patch it for one more ride, but then that's it.

Isn't it ironic that Alanis doesn't understand the meaning of irony?

gawd that song drives me up a wall. Not one example of irony in the whole song....or is that the point? I doubt she's that clever. I guess the guy who is afraid of flying, and then dies in a crash on his first attempt to get over it is ironic....so ONE case in the whole miserable tune.

What annoys you more- the imporoper use of irony, or her nasal whining voice?
