So, I played with a Di2 the other day.

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We got the Di2 Pinarello Gran Fondo Dogma in our shop. Pretty amazing stuff. And only 12 of these bikes exist in the US right now.

I loved it when I had a chance to try it out around my neighborhood. But I think it's the shnizzle, rather than the shizzle.

There's a bunch at Strictly. I love/hate that shop. The moment I walk in, my credit card bursts into flames.

Does PBK sale + 10% discount qualify as "retail?" ($1775 shipped for the shifting group)

What's up, Ben? We met at the crappy Crit NY over the summer. I train under KL too. How's the post-season coming for you?

I've only got a crappy cell phone picture of it. I'll take some real pictures of it next time when I have time at the shop.

We've had a couple people call us with interest about that bike, but so far nobody yet. We're in Orange County; there's bound to be someone with more than enough money to make a purchase like this

Is that one where the frame is built to route the Di2 cables? I saw a Wilier Cento like that in a shop in Italy. I wish I had taken a picture.

Ya, the frame only works with Di2, nothing else since it doesn't have any cable stops where regular frames would have them. Pinarello also makes a Dogma frame with the normal cable stops, but... that isn't what makes this the special edition. Its just the blue Gran Fondo paint scheme that makes this one a "special edition."

Days off the bike and weekends free are a nice change...though it is a big adjustment. Rides start up again soon though...looking forward to getting back on the bike.

We need to get KL to host a end-of-season bbq or something.

I am doing a Senior project with two Pro/Cat 1 cyclists and we talked about this group. The two students were so agog about how the RD would over shift a little bit and then shift back. I laughed my ass off. Us old farts that rode old Campy stuff (say NR vintage) did that all the time just to ride our bikes.

Those guys may be way stronger than I ever dreamed of being, but from the engineering end I have a whole world of experience on them.
