Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Brrr! Its getting cold

Here in Miami Florida. First cold front went through and it got down into the low 60's. This morning's ride was the fall fashion show. Everyone was showing off their newest cold weather gear. Sorry to rub it in.

HTF U is now taking applications for the winter session... many of our graduates find that once they have completed the in class theory and field exercises they can increase their winter mileage considerably.

Classes are held at our facilities in Canuckistan as we need to work and teach in a place that actually has real winter conditions.

Don't be fooled by imposters offering similar services.

It was 30F here in Missouri this morning. The weather fluctuates frequently, it's going to be in the upper 70's later this week so I'm going to try to get in a long ride before the real cold weather hits.

(I still don't understand how the "low 60's" can be considered cold. HTFU, haha)

It just warmed up to the high 50's today and it feels great. Tomorrow on my MTB ride I'll have the short sleeves and shorts back on.

Counselling services are also available for those who suffer from Psychrophobia and our therapists have been very successful in helping many people resume their active and healthy lifestyles.

82 degrees this morning in Boulder during our ride.

Our ride yesterday started at 37 degrees. Typical Colorado.

Last weekend, we got 4 inches of snow.

35 when I left, 41 when I got back. Beautiful day, a bit breezy from the west but no rain. It seems it has rained all of October here.

It's been in the high 50's today in Jacksonville, FL. Awesome weather too, albeit a little windy. My ride was nice and cool.

37 and windy allllll weekend.

Anything below 50 and the bike goes away and the running gear comes out. I did a short 2.5 miles today, and my lungs re-informed that cycling fitness is in no way running fitness...bummer.

Pretty much the same in Gainesville except it was a little cooler during my ride (low 50's F). Leg warmers, full finger gloves (over kill), and a cycling jacket over a base layer (also a bit of over kill).

Yup... Below freezing out the door this morning. Near 50 upon return. 70 and sunny tomorrow and Tuesday.

It is a balmy 48F here right now... HTF U may have to suspend classes due to unseasonably warm weather.

Low to mid 60's the last few days. Bib shorts and a long sleeve jersey just right.

Dude, I think you should explain the financial aid options. Work study? Loans? Scholarships & grants?

Or is education free in Canada like everything else?

Anyway, I applaud your efforts.

I think my daughter is majoring in MTB at one of NY's finer state universities.

I see that pcad is offering some climbing (and culinary) endurance skills classes. Pricey! But you might want to check into cross-accreditation.

HTF U is a privately run school and as such receives no federal funding.

If students are willing to work off some of their tuition that would be fine as there are always walks to be shovelled and staff bikes that need to be cleaned.

Us northerners don't care much for 92. Too damn hot. But I still ride, doesn't mean I'd like it. For me, 64 is the perfect temperature. How about you?
