Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, you'll find me on the country roads South of Rochester many dry cycling days (Bloomfield, Mendon, Victor...). Once you get going, you can't stop. Welcome to road biking!!

I live near Rochester. You should consider joing the Rochester Bicycling Club. We have many rides of varying lengths and difficulties. There are "Slow and Easy" rides designed for newer riders and rides over 125 miles in length.

yeah, I joined the mailing list. I might participate in one of the Sunday morning rides one of these days when I feel I'm ready. Ive been riding around RIT's campus for the past week. I'm just looking for some new places near Henrietta that I can ride without having to worry about all the traffic.

I'm directly south of Rochester (Henrietta) and spend my saturday mornings in the hills around Bristol/Finger Lakes. I'm always looking for a riding partner but prefer to go out early (6AM). PM me any time and we can hook up for a ride.
