Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Questions on spokes and nipples

I am going to get some new wheels from bicycle wheel warehouse and was wondering what spokes/nipples I should get. I'm more concerned about durability than weight and I'm looking at Mavic Openpros or CXP33's. Should I get brass or alloy nipples? Also, the standard spokes are DT Champion (2.0), but there is an option for DT Comp (2.0/1.8). What is the difference in these?

I'm no expert is spokes, so I will leave that to someone else, but as for nipple, go with brass. They are slightly heavier then Aluminum alloy nipples, however, will not break over time. Aluminum nipples will eventually fatigue, crack, and eventually break.
