Anyone here tried the PF CG-1?
Just curious if anyone tried that frame yet, and what the buzz is. I read one obscure review of guy who said it reminded him of an Addict as far as ride was concerned.
Anything else? |
I've got one.
Rode the Livestrong 90miler with it. 90 miles of chipseal and I could still feel my ass at the end of it. Gets a thumbs-up from me. http://home.gwu.edu/%7Ebdcheung/bike/CG1.JPG |
the cg-1 with sram red will be my next bicycle purchase in the coming weeks. bdcheung, what wheelset, if any did you choose from pf's custom build list?
|
That bike is slick.
How's that BB-30 stiffness and feel with less Q? |
dumb question perhaps, but does BB-30 have a narrower Q than Shimano?

I've got one. I like it. Be careful with the seatmast. They don't tell you, but you have to have the saddle slammed down on the mast as far as it will go, or use spacers (1 1/8" headset spacers) to move it up. You can't just move it up 1-2mm without the spacers.

I got this bike also...sorry, no pics.....
Very happy so far. This is my first carbon bike, most recently riding an aluminum specialized. Was skeptical about the comfort of carbon, but am now a believer. Definitely stiffer in the BB than the Specialized (not sure if it is the big tubes, BB30 or both) and almost stupid light (59 CM size, based on me picking the thing up in comparison to my other bikes.....can't be bothered to actually weigh it. Did have an issue with the fork steerer rubbing the rear of the head tube on the first frameset I got, but found PF easy to deal with for replacement. As an aside, I also really like the SRAM Force. Shift very well, comfortable hoods, great brakes.... |
I've always wondered this and never found out...BD what are those on your arms? I know pros sometimes wear them, but I don't know what purpose they serve.
I don't think they are arm warmers just shoved down. |

We're going to use the CG1 frames as the basis for our new custom bike builds. I'm glad to see people are liking them. You should see these frames with custom paint and colors. Unfortunately, painting them makes the framesets not as much of a bargain, but they sure look fantastic! :)
