Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It looks like show off stuff to me. Hence why I bring up the thread. Some of these pieces are functional, but others are straight up show off, like the gold shift lever lids. Must you have gold sprockets ? C'mon.......................

I ride 7800 so that's all I looked at. Chainrings and chain are the only 2 items shown.......and they do look nice.

It's bling. The web site resizing my browser to fill the screen? FAIL.

It's not Fred at all.

You can justify by saying that Ti is more durable, esp. if you ride year-round in all kinds of crazy weather (does not apply to people in CA).

Plus, all the stuff is gold! I mean, who doesn't like gold?

Looks pretty nice, but I find it pretty amusing that the machined chainring for the 7800 crank makes it look kinda like my Ultegra SL crank.

I think that maybe Shimano's claim of Yumeya "Changing how the world lives" might be a teensy bit of an overstatement.

https://www.bikerumor.com/2009/10/01/...old-treatment/

Article mentions $480 price tag. It's much cheaper to tune this stuff yourself, but yumeya does look nice.

White XTR pulleys? Is that marketed towards people who never ride their bike?

I clicked on Japanese and didn't understand much.

But really,

Some of the parts look pretty cool. Don't like the gold finish though on some items.

Reminds me of a Cadillac

Meh. Even if I had DA 7800 I wouldn't be interested.

Weren't the old Ti bolt kits about $1 per gram? Or was that $1 per gram saved? I can't remember the details.
