Lost Grandfather to pancreatic, Dad to Esophogeal, and Uncle to ocular/lung/liver cancer -- proudly wear my wrist band 24/7.

My wife had cancer about 4 years ago. She recovered fine..
....My livestrong band is still going strong.. Still Looks bright yellow . In four years. likely have not had it off more than 12 hours - if that.
. Besides, recalling the pain of my wife's illness and reminding ourselves to be cancer aware ; it has the benefit of telling others' I might be a cyclist. That has lead to some interesting conversations.

Pretty much since they came out, yeah. Livestrong is an organization that I support. I like the way that they changed how cancer is viewed, with an eye on treating the person as well as fighting the disease.

I don't wear one, but I need to get one.
I do wear a CRY wristband as my friend died of an undiagnosed heart condition when he was 20. I need a new one actually as my current one broke.

I wear one. I did the LIVESTRONG challenge in Austin, Tx. I got 200 wristbands. I have plenty left. If you want one then let me know and I will send you some.

Every day since discovering them this summer. My wife and I are both survivors and it reminds me to Live (er) well, and it helps me keep a couple of friends dealing with cancer now in my thoughts. It's harmless - and I certainly don't make a show or crusade about it... It's just for me.

You can't? Maybe thinking isn't your strong suit. Seems to me if you read some of the above posts you might just find a reason in that pea size brain of yours, to don a yellow bracelet.... Then again by the tone of your post , probably not. Hopefully life will be kind to you...

Why? It's not going to save my grandfather. It's not going to honor him or my mother any more than my trying to live up to or beyond their standards would. It's not going to raise any more money for the cause than a direct donation or even a spin on a single charity ride would. And it's certainly not going to spur any memories of them that everyday life wouldn't, so it does nothing for me there. Beyond that it would serve little purpose for me beyond advertising that I may or may not support some cause, and I have no need or desire to do that either.
So like I said, no reason I can think of that I should or would wear one. I'm certainly not going to do it to make you feel better.
You may want to recall that I am not you, nor am I anyone else here on these forums, I am me. Ascribing your (or anyone else's) feelings, thoughts, or emotions to me is foolish. I wouldn't expect you to think and feel the way I do on all matters, you should return the favor in the future.
