Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ragatz wells fargo team dedacciai any info in how much is it worth?

Hello i tried going to the internet looking for information about this frame and no luck. The front badge has a world logo with the champion colors and a made in italy in small letters sc61.10a k.e.t tubing carbbon seatstays the carbon seatstayz read black tail 2 dedacciai and black box dedacciai. This is just the frame not the frameset. About how much is it worth?

I sold a complete version of the aluminum bike (no black box rear triangle) for $300 to another forum member a few months ago. The bikes were ok but they gave us those team bikes in 2003. I had never ridden mine, I don't know how much the one you are looking at has been ridden.

edit:I had let a friend ride the one I sold for about six months. No races. If the seller was on the team, I'm sure he raced it.

Ragatz is the "house brand" for Tony Ragatz. He has a cycle shop in Santa Paula Ca.* You could contact them to see what amount they would list it for.

Bicycle World U S A
135 E Harvard Blvd , Santa Paula
(805) 525-2256

*Note: I am not affiliated with this shop nor have I ever purchased anything from them. I visited their shop ONCE a few years ago.

I think you could find something newer for the same price or a little more. I think you could get a new or almost new CAAD 9 for not much more. Like Rob P. said it is the house brand for Bicycle World (he pays a factory to put his name on it). The frame I had was Deddacai tubing and was identical to a Ciocc frame that a friend of mine had from the same year.

They're not made here. He imports them. When I rode for the team, he told us they were made in the same factory as Colnagos. I am just saying what I was told, not that I believed it. Like I said, a friend of mine had a Ciocc that was made out of the same tubing. If you did not look at the name on the downtube, the bikes looked identical. They may have been made in Italy; they may have been made in Taiwan?

That's a scandium frame with the Deda BlackBox rear end for $400, right? If it's new, buy it!
Scandium frames are usually $700+ new w/o a fork.
Deda builds these in Italy and will label it with whatever you like...

The Ragatz/Wells Fargo team frames were not scandium. They were Deda aluminum. The ones with the black box rear ends were actually built to the rider's specs. The team existed in 2003. It fell apart early and then they tried to run a tri team for a bit but there were a lot of shady deals going on (with both the road and tri teams) so that fell apart as well.
