To move on from Pbaby's pissing match...
I was watching Hell on Wheels today and what jumped out at me as much the bikes have changed in 6 short years. 2003 TdF state of the art bike had very few carbon cranks, and bars. The Pinerello's of Telekom looked more like road bikes with TT bars.

Yep. Still a quite a few riders then trundling around on custom aluminium bikes too.

I'm loving the Bianchi everyday bike. I'd lose the yellow and red accents. but very nice indeed.
The moots is a real winner, it'd take the cake if it were the YBB.
The black merlin is very nice and simple looking. I am also very partial to Merlin bikes as I own one and love the ride.
The first pic on page one is very nice and minimal looking, can I get an ID on the frame?
But, The orca on page one is, IMHO, by far, the nicest i've seen thus far. This is sex on wheels.

Yes, his/her tastes run a tad differently than what is acceptable to us. I don't know who the owner is. I just downloaded it as the best photographed Merlin Cielo I could find.
*I* simply submit the Merlin Cielo as a gorgeous bike . . . you just have to ignore the war crimes committed against it in this photo.

You gotta admit, sans the handlebar that's a gorgeous mf.

Not mine but hot:

I also vote for 55rad's Pinarello and the Moots with Lightweights.

a phat - Thanks. The frame on my black steel bike with zipps is a 1986 Centurion Ironman Master I rescued from a junk heap. I wanted to take an older frame and mix it with current components. The DT shifters are Dura Ace 10 speed. Fork is an Easton EC90 SL. Thomson seatpost (either Elite or Master - had both on there at one time or another). Bike as pictured came in a tad under 18 pounds.

I thought I'd give the other steel bicycles here a little company:

And, there surely are A LOT of great bikes in here, so I'm just contributing, not saying mine is the best by any means. However, whenever I'm riding it, other cycling enthusiasts seems to appreciate the detail and looks of it
