Gotta love steel, it looks great though.
Does Columbus still manufacture SL?

Looks good. I have a 1988 Rossin RL in Columbus SL.
Do you have any pics of your head tube and bottom bracket lug work?

The 2009 site is. I don't think mass producers or off the peg sellers have it. The site's a good one and leads me to believe that it's a racey tubing for lightweights.

I don't usually like "normal" seat stays on the side of the lug, but those long, sleek scalloped seat stays are nice ! Are they plugs or caps ?

I would prefer a reinforced rear brake bridge - the old diamond style lugs would be nice - but maybe that's just me.
Overall very nice, though.

stole your bike
Very nice looking bike! I've been interested in riding a new steel frame because I always liked the feel of a steel bike but the weight made me not like it as much as lighter materials.

Thanks for the kind words.
Garbo- Yes it was released in a new triple butted profile this past year.
Homebrew- I craft the caps by hand. If you search the older posts of my blog you'll see the process. It's time consuming yet, the end results are far more spectacular than a plug.
Roadie- With light components A new SL frame can be complete at 17.5-18lbs maybe lower. The black bike photographed weighed in at 18.1. The frames I've constructed from SL have generally been in the 3lb range.
Bob- Thanks!
Botto- David, My client is a studio photographer. I'll pass the question to him. I shoot with an archaic D40
Redhead- In the works. He spent a large chunk on the Aerolights, 1.1 rims and 240 hubs. Rotational mass is a killer. Static.. not so much. Yes, I agree. The FSA bar is out of place..but soon to be replaced according to him!

Brisco!Nice! Steel is truly amazing. With the new metallurgy it's hard to contemplate a plastic bike!

That's really nice!!! Looks a lot like my Torelli with the Brooks seat and all. The close-up of the bare naked bottom bracket is beautiful. Not everyone "gets" the beauty of lugged steel.

Love it. Which bike shop do you run? I used to work at a couple of shops in Columbus (15 plus years ago).
