Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Forum

I know this will get locked in 2 seconds, since we are not allowed to actually discuss the new forum over here but here is where I hang out.. I mean who hangs in the New Bikeforums Technical Issues Tread.. anyway:

The No Squint program helps my old eyes. Great addition to firefox.

I'm not liking all the white and all the pastel blue. Black for me please.

It takes a while for everything to settle in. While I like the last incarnation better the new one is growing on me.

I have to believe numbers are down. i know mine are. I have spent a heck of a lot of time on facebook instead lately. This interface really sucks. Sorry. This is the same crap the other forums use and it's the reason I don't use the other forums.

I still love this place so I will adjust to whatever. It's not worth debating though. IB will do what it wants to do and only the numbers will matter.

You can't even click to "Last Page in this Thread" anymore after the page numbers below thread titles. It blows. It's so damn bright it's ****ing annoying. Where's black? Grey? It's so much easier on the eyes. But what do we know...

I too love the forum which is about the people here but these are my comments:

The Bike Forums Header Graphic is HORRIBLE. It was before and still is. Come on guys.

The forum is now harder to read. More eye strain and not less. It looks more cartoonish...less
information per page.

I basically hate the new changes. As mentioned...won't matter, just my $0.02.

+1 on the white space and eye strain. My time and # of logons is down simple because I can't look at it. we need darker surfaces. Also way too much vertical space taken up by large avatars and huge signature spaces. Like this one from above (no personal offense intended) :

My Collection:
Old Huffy - Cracked Frame
Trek 400 - Lost to Biking Accedent
Trek 1400 - Stolen
Trek Pilot 2.1 - Racer In Progress

3850 Miles And Counting This Year!!!
Voted Liberty Missouri's Fastest Rider 2 years running !!
this really needs a smaller font or smaller limit.

Less information per page; absolute human factors fail.

Fisher Price appearance.

Awful, just awful.

Maybe go ride your bike a bit more and then come back to it.

Actually, what I notice is that it is different, and being an old codger set in his ways, it just bugs me whenever anything changes. I guess if they listened to me, I'd be typing out a stack of punch cards to mail in to them, so maybe I'd better not offer up any suggestions here.

maybe they started using this crappy interface so viewership would go down and then they wouldn't have to pay as much for bandwidth.

Same goes for you. Go ride YOU'RE bike and quit *****ing about us *****ing. They made a change, we've go a right to ***** about it if we don't like it. Why do we have a right? Because if it wasn't for us, this place wouldn't be here. The only reason I quoted you is because of how hypocritical your post is.

If there are, can you tell us instead of show us in an attachment? Because when I click on the attachment now, it doesn't even load! I just get a black window. I waited two minutes, and gave up. Apparently the freakin' database itself could use a little "adjustment", ha!
