Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That sucks. Hopefully you won't have any relapse after riding so soon.

Glad to see you are feeling better. Did you get the vaccination?

This is generally what I've heard from folks who have had h1n1 (remember, 20+% of the US population has been exposed): intense fever, moderate chest congestions. Couple days of feeling like poo, then recovered enough to function.

This is nothing compared to some of the other variations of the virus that have gone around in past years. It's not uncommon to be down 7-10 days with chest issues with some of them. Currently, h1n1 isn't too bad. I just fear it will continue to mutate into something that does damage-ala-spanish-flu.

Glad the OP is feeling better. Keep riding!

In '90 I was in top condition, riding about 125 miles / week. I got the flu. I was in bed for a week with my throat on fire, sucking ice water out of a bike bottle. It was a good 10 days after the fever quit before I was 100%.

I've had some brutal seasonal viruses over the years. Since I've taken up regular/strenuous riding the past 2 years, the colds and flus I've gotten have decreased in number and intensity.

no. h1n1 in healthy people is far milder than regular strains of flu, so i didn't bother. my wife and daughter likely caught it in the first wave.
