Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

suddenly and very unexpectedly I hear from very close behind me, " JESUS CHRIST!!". I turned around just in time to see my unannounced wheel sucker peeling off to the right.
I laughed.

My kid laughed.

My wife just finished laughing.

Often when I'm waiting for a safe opportunity to pass on MUPs I find the person ahead of me will soon start spitting once they're aware of me. I'm assuming they think I'm drafting them, even though I may be two or three bike lengths behind, and they feel the need to try to spatter me with spit to convey their displeasure. I always get a chuckle from someone who appears irritated that I'm drafting them from 20 feet behind traveling 15 MPH downwind.
