I can't remember the name of it, but your local library should have a directory of addresses of all corporations.......

It's been a very long time since I used one....

Taintkick 12-04-09 08:37 AM

Well, That worked. They are going to hook me up with something I actually like. Have to pay a little bit but it's worth it.

Im glad your persistence got you the right frame. Replacing your old frame with a newer one that looks gay isnt right. Did you end up getting the yellow one?

Taintkick 12-04-09 11:02 AM

No I upgraded to a 2009 CR1 Pro

RoboCheme 12-04-09 11:19 AM

Were you without a bike for three months or so?

m4ximusprim3 12-04-09 11:41 AM

HA! So you're going to have a CR1 Pro with Sora components? That should be interesting :)

At least you'll have a good platform to build on if you decide to upgrade in the future. Glad to hear the executive carpet bomb approach worked out for you. Enjoy the new ride!

cjump 12-04-09 11:53 AM

you are going to love the CR1 when the hanger breaks :thumb:

stonecrd 12-04-09 11:55 AM

I have 3yrs and 15,000 miles on mine, hanger has not broken yet

cjump 12-04-09 11:56 AM

mine is tweaked. i am going to replace it with an addict shortly.

Taintkick 12-04-09 01:11 PM

Yea, today i've been looking on ebay for better components. But if i've never had better i don't know what i'm missing so....yay sora. :D

You're a smart man. Never, ever, try more expensive kit unless you have already decided to buy it.

Taintkick 12-04-09 02:21 PM

Does the carbon show through?

I have not had any problems with my hanger either, but I do have a breakaway pin in my deraillure just to be safe.

Everyone with an older CR1, or any bike with an integrated hanger, should do this. I didn't. In a standing sprint, my DA chain opened up on the side of one link, and wrapped around the cog. DA rear der destroyed, hanger destroyed. Thought about sending to Calfee for repair but in the end, got a new Addict R3 through the crash replacement policy. Glad I did. Scott dealer cut out bottom bracket of my '06 CR1 SL (proof of death for Scott) and I took the remains to play with. My local wrench did "destructive" testing on the remains. I loved the bike, but as we tore it apart, the construction was like paper mache. The Addict is a totally different build and carbon layup and has a replaceable hanger. Great bike.

heads up! 12-04-09 03:37 PM
