2010 Trek 2.3 compact
 

Greetings, and thanks to everyone who responded to my first post about a Felt Z85. I now am thinking in another direction. What do you all think about a 2010 Trek 2.3? It seems like a incredible bike, I am told it has the same frame geometry as a 4.5 Madone, and it is all 105. Am I correct that it has the more relaxed frame geometry? If this could be had for about 300.00 more than the Z85, would that be a good choice? Thanks in advance for all the expertice!

ive got a trek 2.1 and i love it. is this your first bike? the BFers here will all tell you the same thing: whatever fits you better. if you like the bike and can pay that much money then go for it.

I'd love a new Trek 2.3, but I ride essentially the same bike from '07 (Trek 1600).

Whatever fits you better and whatever you enjoy more. If you aren't happy on the bike you're riding (for any reason) its likely you either: (A) will be less motivated to ride or; (B) will replace it quickly (spending more money)

I purchased a 09 Trek 7.3 FX, and have enjoyed it very much, but I want to move to a true road bike, the components, multi position handlebars, and a compact double, are all things that I am looking forward to. I think I should notice a real difference between the two. Thanks for the input, everone.

I like the Trek better than the Felt. Felt only has a 9 speed cassette, trek has a 10 speed. Trek has more accessories if your into keeping all the same brand on the bike. Frame color is also nicer on the trek.

if you're gonna spend the bucks for the trek, get the CAAD9. Better bike all around.

The CAAD9 is a great bike, but it's aggressive geometry does not fit everyone. For 2010, the 2.1/2.3 are really good values for a road bike that has good performance without the race feel.
