Performance Bicycle 25% Off Sale

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Edit: Nevermind, I put the shoe in my cart just to see, and the sale is actually applied to the sale price. I'm impressed, Performance has real sales afterall!

As usual, that means 25% off prices that are inflated 25%. For example, I was considering buying a pair of mtb shoes they have had listed at $59.99 for the last 3 weeks. With the 25% off sale, they're now $79.99. What a scam. fwiw I'm probably getting my shoes at Wheel World or Jenson USA, where they have real sales.

I used to buy a TON of stuff from Performance. Their prices were comparable to everyone else and the buyer's club saved me 10%.

Lately, though, I've noticed their prices tend to be 10% higher than their competition. (Maybe the buyer's club has been too successful.) I'm not officially a former customer, but I definitely shop around for every purchase now. Renewing my Team Performance membership will be a lot tougher call this year.

Still, I bought my new 2010 road tires under the Michelin and 25% off sales today. (Both discounts apply.) Not a bad deal, at all.

Correct, sale applies to items already market down.

I also got a PI Elite Thermal Full Zip LS Jersey. Regular price of $99.99 and with 25% discount, it's mine for only $75.

Finally, think the online sale is only good for today.

I bought a Scattante from Performance. Their list price was high, then "marked down" to 1.9k (which is probably a normal price then), then they had an overall 20% off sale plus a 20% off bike sale running at the same time that stacked. So it was only about $1.2k. Plus you have 10% store credit on the 1.9k price, not the 1.2k sale price. So I've always thought they were pretty good in that regard.

I don't see how long the sale lasts. I was going to get this and some tubes in store.

I'm sorry, was thinking of their 20% off sale that ended earlier in the week (which in hindsight, glad I didn't do).

Email says: "Online & phone starts today. In store begins tomorrow." So I guess it's good until supplies run out.

Even though there's a store across the street from me, I'm always unimpressed with the selection. Think, but could be mistaken, their online store has 5x more items.

Just following up with my non-shilling shill thread.

Got the items today, which was two weeks earlier than anticipated. All items came as described and without any noticeable flaws (ie loose threads).

Their current sale is back to 20% off...

Yes, prime example- they are selling the Garmin Edge 500 for $275 (marked down to $260). Suggested retail on the Garmin site is $250.

Yeah they aren't the cheapest but I've got to help some LBS and they're the most convenient for me (just down the street from my work). They have 10% off Tuesdays plus the team card which is kinda nice because every couple months I can use the card balance and get something for "free". With the thousands I spend online I don't feel bad about giving them a few hundred throughout the year.
