Continental GP4000S in stock - Time to stock up?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Continental GP4000S in stock - Time to stock up?

Just and FYI for my fellow BF'ers...

I know that many people have been waiting for the price of Conti GP4000S tires to come down in price, myself included.

They are $34.78 each ($38.64 + 10% off coupon) right now at you know where.

If you anticipate a USD rally against the GBP, ala last winter season, then it might be better to wait. But then you risk stock running out.

Gatorskins are also around $26.27 each with coupon.

So tempted. But not a deep enough discount to risk my credit card getting hacked again. Last time I ordered from PBK, it took me months of hassle to get my financial situation together.

What's the coupon code for the additional 10% off? That 10% Off appears to be factored into that $38 price already.

Ordered 4 tires. 85 UK pounds. I think that's about $140 or so. $60-$70 less than at the LBS.

Appears to me the OP is talking about the Santa Red GP4000 tires, which are NOT Black Chili compound.....they have red tread compound.

Anybody have the scoop on the life and traction of these colored GP4000 tires?

It's tyres.

Don't they discount tyres in January? I remember I got a 4-Seasons last January for < $30.00.

They do indeed have the red gp4000's for cheap, too, but the OP is indeed talking about GP4000s.
here's a link, if you're finding it hard to locate.

at the time of this post, the price is $38.63 before any coupons.

cheers.

Placed order, in for a pair. Will be interesting to see how different these are compared to the Gatorskins I'm so used to running on, as well as the Mondo Pro IIs that came with my Tarmac that I have yet to use, haha.

Just bought 4 for $33.69/each in the twin-pack special PBK had a few weeks back. Yes, a good deal.

For comparison purposes:

TWINPACK OFFER - 25% OFF - Continental GP 4000 S Tyre (Folding) Black 700mmx23c - $74.86

And then another 10% off of that.

OK people,

I ordered the GP4000S tyres using code "XMAS" for an additional 10% off.

In case your CSI skills are not in order, please see post #6 to figure out which site we are all talking about.

If you are into the red GP4000 tires w/o the black chili compound, they are a few bucks cheaper.

But to make it more abundantly clear, we are talking about the GP4000S (as in "schwarz") with white lettering.

Thanks for the info guys, just ordered 5 for next season. Buying tires and pedals from the Brits saves me a bunch of money every year.

I know there not the continental tires, but how about Michelin pro race 3's $62 for a pair, before the discount!

May the schwarz be with you!

I just want to know why the GP4000 "S" tyres have been consistently cheaper than the usually less expensive "non-S" GP4000 with Black Chili Compound. New formula coming? The GP4000SS ("Super Schwarz"?)

Thanks again for the heads up. I'm betting they're not going to be much cheaper than this for a long time.
