Where to mount frame pump?
Nice looking bike, WR.
What's wrong with the way it is? Or could you mount it on your seat-tube? (you would lose one bottle cage) If all else fails, trade it in for a mini-pump and put it in your saddle bag. |
Is this a trick question?
Maybe lose the big pump and put a mini in the same place. You could then mount another one on the seat tube for a back up.
Take it off and use C02.
I don't think WR does trick questions or parody threads (unlike some of us).
Also, maybe it's me (or an optical illusion?) but the seatpost looks like it has a bend in it. |

Where is the basket?
I'd just zip tie it to the fender. The farther back on the bike you can get it, the more aerodynamic it is.
That's where I keep it on my winter bike. I also use 2 Velcro straps just in case.
So this is what happens when you leave the Ritchey parked too close to your son's bike?
 no, that's actually RX's bike.
There were supposed to be a bunch of freakouts about the disc brake over here. Come on people. You're letting me down. There's an SRM with fenders. Where are the white garage door people anyway? CDR: my "downgrade to Cat 3/Madone died" bike pic is forthcoming... and it's not nearly as pretty as the one at the top of the thread. I can't wait for the "it really must not be about the bike" comments. |
Cool winter bike but way too small for WR.
You won't see too many commuters with a bar drop like that. |
Get one of those pump straps and hold up the headtube end of the pump close to the top tube. That's how I have to do it on my rain bikes.
Long derailer is long.
Now we're getting somewhere.
Please submit another pic with the obligatory white garage door.
Oh yeah, flip it. Better? Seriously, is that seatpost bent? Or just me?? |
carry mine in an outer pocket of my rear rack trunk. you got fenders - why not get a rack?

Actually, do a GIS for "moots seatpost" you won't be sorry you did. |
Two semi-serious answers:
1. Install peg type thing in rear dropout screw thing. Put pump between that and seatpost/seat-rail area. 2. Install similar peg type thing in front somewhere (axle area). Put pump between that and bar/stem area. Both require some kind of a secondary reinforcement device so that the pump doesn't slip off from either of its "contact" ends. I did the latter now and then but my pump would bounce off in the perfectly wrong conditions. cdr |
