Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks Schwalbe

I purchased two schwalbe ultremo r tires that wound up being from the defective lot earlier this year. In recompense, Schwalbe sent me two new ultremo r tires in november, and two more today. The defective ones are on trainer duty this winter.

they're a great looking tire. i never had a chance to mount them before the recall, so i've yet to form an opinion.

I had great times with the Ultremo DD's, the more flat-resistant (and slightly heavier) brother to the R. Got 3000 miles out of the front tire and about 1700 out of the rear. But they're super grippy, and basically a race tire.

The ultremoR Are the best tire I have ever ridden. They feel great coner excelent, and rolling resistance is amazing.
Lasted roughly 500km 300mi before developing small hair cracks in the tread that were letting small rocks get to the tube and flatting.
Would buy them again for the ride quality but save for special rides.
