Heart Rate
what is a good training plan for your heart?
I have been bringing it up to 190 in 15 minute intervals.

your opinion must be pretty valuable broski.
I am just afraid of bringing it up over 190bpm. I just wanted to know what other peoples techniques were for strengthening their hearts.

For the winter I've been trying to do long rides at the sweet spot, also known as medium endurance or 50/50. That is the heart rate at which I'm burning 50% fat and 50% glycogen. For me it happens to be between 165-175 bpm.

like i said before everyone is different. lances max might be 201 bpm but yours could be 210bpm or 190bpm or anything else. do a test to find out your max heart rate. im not a doctor and i dont know your health but for a healthy person it should not be a problem to go near your max heart rate.

So my maximum could be higher than Lance's**********
Your HR may be higher than Lance's, but your stroke volume is probably puny in comparison. Come to think of it, I believe I remember hearing Lance has an exceptionally high max HR, so you're probably out of luck on both counts. HR at lactate threshold is important, too...
