Do you need cyclocomputer with a timer for intervals?
I've only ever had one cyclocomputer, and it's about to bite the dust. It had a timer, which was very helpful for doing intervals. However, while looking for a new one, I noticed that not many have a dedicated stopwatch/timer function.
Do you use a stopwatch/timer function for doing intervals? Or just rely on the trip time? I'm deciding between the Cateye Strada Double Wireless (which has no timer function, but seems to be a better cyclocomputer) and the Sigma 1606L wireless (which has a timer function but is likely not as good of a cyclocomputer). |
Sometimes I'll do both, depending on how short or long the interval.
Note that the function could also be called a lap timer. |
It's not needed, but it helps. My heartrate monitor (seperate from the computer) has that function.

as long as it's easy to read and has hrs:min:sec, it meets my need for intervals.

My Garmin has lap time. So I go by that

i don't see the need for a specific timer. all computers have total ride time so i just use that. if i am doing a 1 miute interval 25 minutes into the ride i just go until it says 26 minutes.
