Need help with aerobar setup
I just got my new bike, I haven't rode in over 10 years. Anyway I got a set of profile CGT bars and am looking for any guidelines, tips, suggestions for a close starting point. Thanks in advance for your help. Gene

Remove them before a group ride or promise not to touch them. Nice bars though. Clamp them on. Ride.Adjust. Repeat. Your ultimate position will only come with time in the saddle, just like any other fit issue.

It'll depend a lot on what kind of riding you like to do. For example, there are touring cyclists who use aerobars to achieve an extra position for riding, and also obviously the people who use them to get aero. I personally use them to get aero on my summer bike, and use them as an extra position on my winter bike (which has much higher handlebars).
Saddle fore/aft can also come into play when using aerobars, some people ride with their seat in a traditional more set back position, which works better if your aerobars are higher up. I spend a lot of time in my aerobars (and ride mostly by myself), so I've "sacrifed" my other positions by moving my seat as far forward as possible so I can get lower. Thanks for the link. Most of it is beyond me but I was able to get some good stuff out of it. Gene
