trainer question
 

hey--I just got a Blackburn Trakstand Mag trainer today. Looks fairly easy to set up. One question...they provided their own Blackburn quick release skewer and say that it needs to be installed. Does anyone have any experience with this trainer or any others that come with a quick release skewer? thanks

Use the skewer that came with the trainer. It's a bit more beefed up than the one you are probably using right now on the wheel. Most all trainers come with a beefed up skewer to use so you don't mess up the one you have already.

yup. Skewers are all interchangeable.

The skewers that come with the trainers usually have conical nuts to facilitate being clamped in the trainer frame:

1) If you try to use yours it probably won't clamp properly.
2) If you use your skewer you'll probably screw it up.

Use the provided one.
