New Year's Day Ride/Workout Plans

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Year's Day Ride/Workout Plans

I haven't been on much lately and haven't been outside on the bike in 3 months. What do you guys & gals plan to to tomorrow? I'm hoping to do 40-45 miles tomorrow and get the new year started on a good foot...or two.

3 hours or so with a couple friends if it doesn't snow. I also have some sort of strength training scheduled for tomorrow, but can't remember which one.

We were thinking of going for a ride this afternoon, but they are predicting 20-40 mm of rain, and they sky looks like it will open up any second, so we decided to take a break.

Slow social ride with my bike shop. Bringing the GF along. That reminds me, I have to make her bike rideable.

i did a quick 25 mile ride to south Mountain, here in Phoenix. Did the San Juan Trail, great downhill experience, awesome uphill workout....Today for some reason it didnt feel as dificult as it has before, maybe im up for a tougher, harder trail.....like actually riding up south mountain.

i'll try not to get over myself.

Once I get onto the main roads around here, hoping for 40-50 miles of slush-free cycling bliss.

For better or worse, a century ride in Minneapolis:

https://www.biketcbc.net/mcalendar/ev...ear=2010&cate=

Will be about 0F when we start going up to a high of 5-7F.

Wish me luck. I hope I don't wimp out.

The pool is closed, so...

Lunch at Turley's is about as frisky as I'll be getting.

Lunch, by the way, is to be followed by watching the bowl games until my eyes fall out.

Saturday will be the "SIRloin" with the SIR riders (South Island Road Cycling).

The SIRloin is billed as 'full meaty goodness' and consists of not one, but two laps of a circuit that takes in a run out to Shek-O and back with a climb to the top of The Peak on Hong Kong Island. Should end up about 120km with over 2000m of climbing. 5-6 hours (or more for me!!!).

I'm going to sleep well tomorrow night.

No cycling. Will maybe go to the pool with the kids later on. You know, the outside pool, not the indoors type LOL..................

When in MA I participated in an annual ATB ride with my team mates, club riders and friends...our water bottles never, ever froze...
I'll be heading out for a nice, easy run in a bit then off to a party at my brother-in-laws...long trip too...next door hehehe.
