LA is hard to top...
Lance Armstrong just pledged $250,000 to the relief fund for the people in Haiti...Makes me hate the LA haters even more...Just saw a little girl on TV crying, with a split skull and two broken legs with no medical attention..made me sick. At least there are people like Lance Armstrong who can, and DO make a difference!

And what does a wealthy, successful businessman donating to a worthy cause have to do with Road Cycling?
Don't get me wrong, I think it's great if LA donates; he obviously has a great track record through LiveStrong. But I think it's just as great if Johnny Tinglebaum down at the local Blockbuster donates $20.

I thought this thread was going to be some dummy who was all patriotic about Los Angeles.
(Close, but no cigar.)

Maybe. But Johnny doesn't ride a bike.

Pledging and actually PAYING are very different things.
Actually giving a sh*t is even another.
Many media wh*res are crawling all over themselves to "pledge".
Let me know when one of them actually cares when no one is watching.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
Botto raises a valid question.
Don't get me wrong, I think he's an a-hole. He does, however, raise a valid question.
Good on Lance and anyone else who can pledge money to the effort. Right now, we can barely afford gas for the wife's car and I just signed up for classes this semester. Excuses, excuses.

You all really do not get it do you. LA being bublic about the donation will help get others off their wallets and donating also.
I have not seen any other statements of concern from other cyclist.

Lance deification aside, Haiti can't catch a break. Even when they aren't getting hammered by natural disasters they make their own.

Well, according to that d-bag Pat Robertson, it's their own fault.
Did I mention that he's a d-bag?
Cause that's what he is. A d-bag.

So what you are saying is you support someone else giving money and then get pissed when someone points it out (if you did donate and just don't wanna talk about it to botto, then ignore previous statement). Yes botto can be an ass but he has a point. And for the record, I like LA, not my favorite cyclist but he is a good guy from what I can tell.
